If an individual is ineligible to obtain a health insurance owing to his medical conditions Risk Pools is the best option for him. Risk pools facility is available in more than 30 states of the United States. There are more than 250,000 beneficiaries of ‘risk pools’ in America. The risk pools facility was first introduced in the year 1976.

Risk Pool is state-sponsored, nonfat association. It does not require tax funds for operating. Risk pools are aimed at providing insurance coverage to individuals during gap in insurance plans.

Eligibility conditions for Risk Pools

  • You should be resident of a state from which you are seeking to obtain risk pool coverage. Different states have laid down their residency requirements for risk pool.
  • You must produce one of the following proofs to support your application for risk pool.
    • You should be produce a documentary proof to ratify that you have been denied a health insurance plan at least by one insurance provider.
    • You should be able to prove that your existing health insurance plan has higher premium, which is than the premium charged by the risk pools.
    • Even if your are insured with some other health insurance policy still you are eligible to obtain a risk pool provided your existing policy is with rider.
